Credit card debt at 23 … is it really that bad?

Just pay it off. Why keep adding interest? :man_facepalming:

Edit: Yes, it’s bad.

Yes, get rid of the credit card debt completely.

I had $15k in debt when I was 21 making $21 an hour. You make $30 and live at home. Pay it off in a month or two and move on. $2,500 isn’t worth the stress or hurting your credit over.

It’s bad because you’re paying 20%+ interest for something you didn’t need. If the clothes you bought came with a label saying ‘$2,500 now plus $50 a month in interest,’ would you have still bought them? Probably not. Be more careful with your money.

If you’re not careful, $2,500 can easily turn into $25,000 or more. You make good money for your age and live at home. If you can’t pay it off now, it means you’re spending more than you’re earning. Fix that habit fast.

@Kit
Yeah, I learned that the hard way too. It’s not worth it.

You’ve already got what you bought with the debt. Now you just need to focus on paying it off.
