I was able to settle my credit card debt

Hi there. This debt collection agency that is suing me in six days and I came to a credit card settlement agreement. The settlement documents will be sent to me via email. Is missing court for six days punishable in any way? I’m paying off a debt of $16,000 over ten payments of $1,000 each.

They assured me that they would uphold our agreement even in the event of a verdict. Is there a possibility that this may reach my place of employment in order to garnish my pay?

You must attend the court hearing if they don’t postpone it.

They said that it would be impossible to postpone the court date. I should be fine to go if I receive the settlement letter, right? What was said in the court hearing is superseded by the settlement letter?

No, the morning of court has been cancelled.

Yes, appear in court. Their lawyer will probably be present to inform the judge that an agreement has been formed, and they will then spell that out for the judge to see, in the event that you fail to comply, you will be held legally responsible.

You must appear in court with the settlement letter so the judge can resolve the matter in its entirety. Who is suing you, even, do you even know? Instead of the debt collector, it can be the original bank.

I received papers indicating that Capital One was being represented by Mandarich Law Group. With Mandarich, I made my peace.

Instead of waiting for the debt agency to presumably follow through on their promise, I utilised solo suit to draft a suitable response, provided a copy to the judge, who acknowledged receipt of it and cancelled the court date. This is your situation, your life, and your future. Don’t let another person screw you out of it; take charge of it.

Bring the agreement to court if you receive it. Present yourself and inform the court of the arrangement so that the agreed upon sum will appear in the judgement rather than the initial amount, or else the case may be dismissed.

The judge will officially rule against you for the ORIGINAL AMOUNT if you fail to appear.
