For me, it’s accounting right now. To be fair, they’re probably overwhelmed, but it’s so annoying when they don’t communicate properly when something’s off. Not all of us have accounting degrees! If you work in accounting, just tell us clearly what’s wrong, please.
Marketing takes the crown for me. They make promises to clients without checking with us first, and then we’re left scrambling to deliver on unrealistic deadlines.

I feel this. They drop stuff on us last minute and act surprised when it causes chaos.
@Darby
This exact scenario happened yesterday. Had to pull an all-nighter because marketing decided to promise ‘same-day delivery’ on something they didn’t understand.
@Darby
Same here. They’re always so confident until we ask for details. Then it’s crickets.

At this point, I think marketing assumes we can pull off miracles. Just once I’d like them to consult us before making wild promises.
HR didn’t make the list yet? The HR team here barely responds to anything. It’s like sending emails into a black hole.

This. I waited three weeks for a response about my leave request. When they finally got back, they blamed me for missing the deadline.

The HR head at my place has a voice that somehow makes bad news sound even worse. It’s an underrated skill, honestly.
@Quade
Is it just me, or does every HR manager always sound overly formal and out of touch?

Not just you. It’s like a universal HR tone they all learn somewhere.
IT for me. I swear they just exist to tell us we’re using the wrong system or call it ‘user error.’

Haha! Or when they ‘fix’ something and it somehow gets even worse.

To be fair, IT has to deal with all our nonsense. I’d lose my mind too.
@Tyler
True, but their attitude doesn’t help. A little patience wouldn’t kill them.
Sales. Always over-promising stuff and then blaming the rest of us when it falls apart. They just wing it on charisma.

I had a sales guy tell a client ‘we can customize that for free.’ Spoiler: we couldn’t. Guess who had to explain it later?
@Blake
Let me guess—‘it’s just a quick change’ is their go-to line?

Our sales team basically has one skill: smiling and shaking hands. Beyond that? Useless.
Middle management is the worst. They never make decisions, just hold meetings to decide to hold more meetings. Nothing ever gets done.
