Hello, I’m an international student presently in debt (vehicle and credit card) by about $5,000 to $6,000. This month, I’m leaving the nation, and I have no plans to return. Will the debt follow me or have any kind of impact on me? I sincerely appreciate any response.
It’s an American system; the loan cannot be repaid if you leave the country. Regardless of where you live, your salary may be garnished if you are employed by an American company.
They may file a lawsuit against you as well, but it really depends on the creditors, how much they want, and how simple it is for you to pay them back.
Before you go, sell the car.
In seven years, the debt will no longer appear on your record.
You’ll be fine. Vietnam doesn’t check.
It may be doable if you have an American bank account. If you are employed, they may garnish your pay. If you are a freelancer, they may obtain a one-time judgment authorizing them to take the money out of your account, but this is unlikely to happen for a modest sum of money. Simply use a foreign bank, and everything should work well.
Let me help you settle the cc debt for you
It might follow, in my opinion, because your debt is linked to your identity and credit report. If, however, this Asian nation doesn’t have your credit history and you obtain any credit goods, then everything should be alright. However, I’m not really sure, and I’d be curious to know as well.
Other countries don’t use America’s credit system…
Thank you for your reply, but the Asian nation I plan to visit has no credit at all.
I looked it up on Google and the response said you’re pretty safe to simply walk away since, unless it’s really high, which isn’t that much, they probably won’t come after. But it will be difficult for you to escape it if you ever return.
