Grinding Down Debt and Fighting FOMO

I’ve been working hard to pay down my debt ever since I was hit with a $23k tax bill this year. I’m now in the home stretch with $5k left on my line of credit, but I’m feeling broke despite making decent money. I’ve been really tempted to spend on a few nice things for my birthday, but that would push back my October 15th goal. Reading the stories here has helped me get over my FOMO and stay focused on grinding out the next 55 days.

Once I’m done with this debt, my next goal is tackling my vehicle debt, hopefully getting it down by July. I’ve considered selling the vehicle, but that’s a whole other conversation. Right now, paying off these debts is much more motivating than trying to save up. Thanks again for all your posts—they’ve been a big help in keeping me on track.

A detailed budget can help you keep track of your income and expenses, find places where you can cut back, and direct more money toward paying off your debt.
