That was a rollercoaster… but I’m back on track now!

So it’s been a wild few months for me, but I finally got things back on track. After dealing with some financial ups and downs, I managed to stabilize things. It feels great to have a plan in place again.

You bounced back really quickly! That’s impressive, keep up the momentum!

What’s your credit card usage like now? Mine went from 100% to 40%, and my score shot up 60 points. Waiting for it to update again since I’m down to 20% now.

Oh man, I know that feeling. I was cruising at a 750, and then BAM—divorce happened, and my score dropped to 620. Took about 18 months, but now I’m sitting comfortably at 770 again. It was such a stressful time, especially with needing to move and worrying about my credit for renting a place or getting a car. Glad to hear you’re on your way back!

What did you do at the end of September to get back on track?

I just paid off half the balance on my card, and boom, my score went back up.

That’s awesome!

Something similar happened to me a couple of years ago. They closed one of my oldest accounts (10 years old) without telling me, and I lost 52 points on my score, even though there was a zero balance on the card.

Me, holding onto my 761 credit score for dear life over here! :sweat_smile:

What happened? Did you open a new account or miss a payment?

No, I got a new 0% APR credit card and spent $10k on it to gift my parents a vacation for their anniversary. Worth every penny!

@Holt
That’s incredible! I hope to be in that kind of financial shape one day. You’re doing great!

Well done!

How did you manage to get back on track so fast?

OP already answered that in a previous comment. Check their earlier responses to avoid repeating the same questions.

You didn’t have to come at me with that energy. Just share the info if you have it!

@Carter
How dare I suggest that people actually read and look for answers themselves? :person_shrugging:

Honestly, unless you’re shopping for a loan, these fluctuations in your score don’t really matter. Balances going up and down is pretty normal, and your score will reflect that. Hopefully, you didn’t stress too much or make sacrifices just for a higher score. Take your time paying off balances, and it’ll have the same result in the long run, unless you’re about to apply for something like a mortgage.

Oh jeez, 700… we’re all doomed! :joy:
