Not sure if anyone remembers, but a while back I posted about paying off 15 credit cards because I was super excited! Well, you guys warned me that posting those cards was a bad idea… and surprise, you were right.
Someone got ahold of my Chase Freedom card details and used it to spend $500 on OnlyFans before I could lock it. Now I have to call the bank and see if they’ll reverse the charges. Lesson learned. Thanks for the heads-up, even if I didn’t listen in time.

Man, that’s crazy! I think you only posted the front numbers, not the expiry or CVV, right? They must have just kept guessing until they got it right. Sorry this happened to you, and of all things, OnlyFans?

Yeah, not sure how they did it, honestly. It’s wild.

Brute force attacks can be surprisingly effective. After learning about how it works, I became super careful with my passwords and info.

Plus, credit cards have check digits, which cuts down on the number of guesses needed.

Why would you say something like that? Haven’t we all learned enough from this?

Omg
Yeah, it was password-related. Let’s just say, bro needs to stay off the internet for a while before he gets scammed again.

Passwords with no numbers can’t be brute-forced.

They absolutely can be. I had a professor who showed us software that could do it, even on pretty complex passwords.
